I wasn’t available to restart the server into offline mode at the time.

The forums are as alive as you want them to be. Most people prefer to talk in-game, no surprise. I post things here that need to be long term discussions… thus, 2 hours before a response is normal. It’s not a chat room.

They’d be almost completely compatible with singleplayer. Obviously some things like Stargates wouldn’t work without the respective plugins.

I use to put some world downloads up, but they were annoying to maintain given their large file size and small number of downloads. So I stopped keeping old ones up as a reminder to people to remind me to update them. All those worlds together should be just over 1.1 GB these days. I’ll get to it.

I can make pumpkins do a non-damaging explosion, but that removes the fun out of it. Damaging explosions would be mean, lol.

In vanilla people can put pumpkins on their own heads, but it obscures your vision without a alternative texture pack. However, since I added the /hat feature, you can put a jackolantern on your head and it WON’T obscure your vision.

A CommandHelper update broke this feature for a couple days there. I just fixed it, and other affected scripts, using a workaround.

Session servers went kaput again. So that’s twice now it’s allowed us to continue to play while other servers on my list have been empty. 🙂

[edit] Of course, it requires that you had at least joined the server once prior (in the past couple weeks this has been running) and are using the same IP address. Sorry, CoderJ. :p

Listshops and outworlds have sucked up most of what administration time I had outside of moderating, but my next project is coin rewards. It’ll be a combination of things: a few limited commands, some finite materials (I’ll actually be taking down my gold shop so that I can help fund this), and maybe some other things as we figure them out. I’ve gone back and forth on special enchanted tools, but I’ll hold off on considering that again until 1.4 comes out as it dramatically changes some influential parts of the enchanting system. (anvils)

Correction: Ike2b is a owner/member of Dale city. I updated the rest of the list.

I’ll probably move my shop again. If I do and you’re interested, you can have my ground floor shop area. I can just shift your guys’ stuff down.

I usually start considering these right about now, when we’re nearing release and things are pretty finalized. (like I did with the ender chest) So I haven’t thought about it too much, and you’re right. It’s dangerous. This is why I didn’t give out ghast, blaze, or creeper spawn eggs in Easter. Any destructive elements I restrict first and work in as I can. A regular restriction might be a decent way to go. Everyone else could still participate, but they’d require one person in the group to be a regular. Restricting right-clicking with wither skulls is easy enough. I could even just restrict it when placing it on soul sand, because you can’t do it any other way. That way people can still place them on other blocks, inside frames, or interact with chests/buttons while it’s in their hand.

I’m not sure if restricting where they can be placed is good or bad. Different terrains for the battle is part of the fun. Maybe we could restrict them to only be placed in outworlds where destruction is part of the fun. That way I wouldn’t have to create an additional distinction for regulars, which I hate to do.

Just a clarification, “steps” are not “stairs”. They’re slabs. This is not my terminology. This is Minecraft/Craftbukkit.

Okay, I made huge improvements to the script. It stores under the item IDs and data values, so you should be able to type in a number of aliases (eg. “stonebrick”, “smooth brick”, “98”) and get what you expect (whereas before you had to give the specific shop alias). I also keep track of stock so that I can keep the list clear of all those empty shops or shops that don’t have enough stock to sell. That was a huge problem before, as shop owners often fail to keep up with demand. (like myself) I also improved the styling a bit and improved some underlying code. It should be a better feature all around.

However, this required me to clear the old cache and start fresh. That means you’ll want to click your signs again to add your shop to the cache. As the Final City market manager, I went through and clicked all those signs already.

Added circle_stonebrick. Thanks to smasher for the recipe idea that is not only consistent with how sandstone works, but also makes the minimum output quantity 1 (instead of 8 in my previous ideas).

Oh man, it feels good to have the server up and running while others are down. 5 players on — other servers on my list, 0.

So, the session servers went down again today. So I turned on my bypass! Then the first several players who tried to join ended up being people who hadn’t played for weeks, so they got denied. 🙁 lol

It works though! Raishokun joined for exactly one minute before leaving. 🙁 hah

The only scoring method I can think of with just redstone would be counting chicken loot. It’d require a more specific shooting gallery configuration so that drops are consistent.

Otherwise I’d just redo the whole thing with CH. I can spawn a mob and it returns the entity id. So I can check if they’re dead or not. It’d also give us more control over difficulty scaling.

We talked already, but it already had infdisp. There’s still some reliability issues, though, as you pointed out. I personally would like a scoring method too.
