I’m exhausted, so I’ll keep this brief. The fantastic fellows at spigotmc.org managed to get around all the legal issues and produce an update to support the largest Minecraft update thus far. Many tests, bug fixes, and workarounds later, we are now running 1.8 smoothly. Check out the extensive changelog to see what’s new in Minecraft 1.8. There’s something for everyone. I found myself a furry little friend on the way to my house. If you’re interested in the new stone blocks, head on over to the new outworld. You may even be able to find an Ocean Monument. I recommend everyone install the updated Optifine for much smoother gameplay. I look forward to talking about what we plan to do with all these new features in the coming days.

Known issues:
– You may have some inventory items without textures. They appear checkered. This is due to a change in Minecraft in how it handles data values.
– Armor Stands are not yet protected by WorldGuard regions.
– Banners with designs on them do not save with Multiverse Inventories. I prevent teleports to protect these items until you store them.
– mineBlock, itemBreak, itemUse, and itemCraft stats got reset; Minecraft changed how they stored the block/item names. (itemCraft was inaccurate anyway)
– Ocean Monuments do not appear to generate in Omega (they do in the outworld), but Guardians do spawn in locations where they would have.
Will there be an are in dev where we can use Armor Stand entity data commands? I like making statues using Armor Stands with /entitydata.
That’s a good idea. I’ve been mostly focused on survival stuff this past month. Right now you can attach arms to armor stands by right-clicking with 2 sticks. Be sure to add ideas like this to the Trello tracker, if you can. Anything “dev” related would be under Frog Park Submissions.
