    Greetings, folks!

I asked about this in webchat and in game a few times, but I’d like to ask for some clarification.

Backstory: My brother and myself, with the help of another couple friends, are planning on building something huge and awesome as a big landmark on the server, and would like to keep it under wraps until the unveiling (It’s completely SFW, nothing offensive, etc. We just want it to be a surprise). My initial plan was to build walls out of sand and gravel and have them sit on cobblestone, to be pushed out of the way by pistons so the wall could drop into a trench. However, the server’s maximum height is a bit short for this to work.

Next idea: build the wall out of wool! We have a decent sheep breeding operation going, with plans to expand in the near future. When the project is complete, we just set fire to the wall and let it burn!

Here’s the problem. I cannot, for the life of me, get wool to ignite on this server. I’ve been told a few times that it should burn just fine.  I’ve tried putting it near a torch, dumping lava on it, placing it on/in lava, and so forth. Nothing. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a permissions thing that’s not allowing this?

You can’t light wool on fire, unless you are a regular. You can always build the wall, and then tear it down by hand.

P.S. The server doesn’t have a maximum height limit, minecraft does.

Ah. Yeah, the tearing down by hand is what we were trying to avoid, simply to save some time. Oh well.

There’s always ways to peek, but a sand wall should be doable up to the height limit no problem. Drop the sand on torches instead. I could even make your area not appear on the live map if you wanted.
