Final City Project

This is where I’ll keep the majority of reference information for the Final City project. For now, here’s some source material we used, created by Dincfish.

    I noticed in your drawings, you have walls around the whole city. As an idea, maybe you could make the wall about 5-10 bricks thick, but hollow so that you could go into it and then go up onto the wall kinda like a lookout? Another idea: Have mine cart stations up against the walls and have the rails go up to wall level (above all the other buildings) and have a ride to certain “hemispheres” of the city? That is, if your planning on making it REALLY big. 🙂

    Those aren’t really ‘walls’ per se, but more cliff faces on the edge of the void. It’s just represented by a ring. Remember: these are mock-ups. I like the idea of an internal hallway that rings around the cliff with occasional balconies and windows. We still haven’t fully decided how the cliffs will look. One idea is to make it a more natural cliff face with ledges, plants, and waterfalls.

    One of those large outer buildings will be the Grand Central Rail Station. We have no plans for rails inside the city, but I guess we could use the basements in some places. It’s all walkable distances, though, so a railway isn’t necessary.

    Just wanted to make sure that I didn’t step on anyones toes or build the two houses in an area planned for something else. Let me know if you have any problems with them (location, size, look, etc.)

    Heh. If you really want to know… that was originally the service district, not the residential district. Plus you built too horizontally, not vertically, which only makes room for seven people if it was all built like that. But it’s not a big deal. I’m working with it. I’m happy people are building there finally.

      No, you’re not thinking about it too much. I’ve considered this, but I don’t want to get TOO specific. Here’s some guidelines to improve confidence:

      – Must be a 2-3 wide walkway on all sides of platforms that have bridges to them, not including the 1-wide railings that are flush with the side of the platforms. These walkways should be stone slabs.
      – Public stairways to upper floors should be 2-wide. (stairways to single private accommodations can be 1-wide) They must be connected to the walkways somewhere.
      – Multiple stories and stackability is HIGHLY encouraged.
      – There are 4 lots per 32×32 platform. There is 1 lot for corner 16×16 platforms. 16×96 platforms are public parks until further notice.

    i can make a big lab for potions and stuff if its ok with you ill start wen you say i can
    a great lab with all sorts of pistion magic testing corses with test subjects TESTING bio resurch and the potions all the potions 😀

    oh i forgot 1 more question do you have to have a minecraft account to get in?
