I am currently working on a city in gamma. The city is built in the sky. Building plans with dimensions will be posted here soon. The city is located over a forest
SkyCity is not the final name. Current Names on the table are:
SkyCity, FloaTopia, Heaven, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Splat, and New Valient
Feel free to post name suggestions or voe or whatever.
Anyone is free to live in SkyCity, there is no rent or anything like that.
Citizens of SkyCity will have access to the bank, where there will be secure storage and a lossless money conversion between iron, gold, and diamond.
All plots in SkyCity will be 23m X 23m with the exception of the garden plots and the market.
Garden plots will be stuck throughout the city wherever they look nice and will be random sizes.
Plans for the market are not yet laid out, however it is planned to be more square meterage than any other market.
Rules for living in the city:
Don’t build anything any lower than the height of the plot we give you. The city needs to look good from below too.
Don’t blame us if you fall.
Don’t push people over the edge.
Don’t let lava or water flow over the edge.
Do not through items over the edge.
I have already had people voicing concern on the city’s location and that it might pass over their land or disrupt them in some way. It should be known that I will not build the city over anyone’s creations regioned or not. I will stay a reasonable distance away from said creations and I will only build over areas in which nothing is built on the surface. That being said if you live or have a creation in that general area, anyone with a reasonable rendering distance will be able to see the city. We will do our best to make sure it is as visibly pleasing as possible both from the city and from underneath, nothing will be build from the city to the ground. In fact no block from the city will be any lower than the current lowest block. Anyone is free to build beneath the city but by doing so you accept that there is a city above you and you can’t complain about it. We ask those that build below us not to build anything that goes past cloud level, however we have no right to enforce that as a rule. In building the city we will not modify anything on the ground except the following:
Changing the depths of the lake so we can same jump into them
Placing/Removing a few blocks here and there so we can get to our death points and get out stuff back.
1 Stargate will be placed on the ground for a easy way to get up and down. It will be removed post construction.
I am mostly posting to get peoples opinions on certain things and so other people can know what is going on as this is a rather large project.
I have two other people that are planing on helping build. We need constant supply of glass and bedrock for the layout. Then we will need building materials for the market, bank, town hall ect..
If you would like to help build, materials will be supplied to you.
Any builders or people who supply us with free materials will be guaranteed a plot in the city and their name posted in the town hall.

I would never intentionally build over someone’s region. The amount of time it would take to come down to the surface and check every block would triple the length of my project. If i build over the edge of your region and it actually effects you please tell me and i will do something about it. For those of who who wish to protect your regions extra carefully redraw your regions but use the command
such as //expand 256 u
that will expand your region upwards 256 blocks. Then i will be able to know if i cross into your region.

Key word being almost, I measured everything out and knew I wouldn’t be over anything, I didn’t know there was a region there, I should have checked. Speaking of which I gotta go for tonight but, when you get the chance can u trim that plot that crossed into the region. As for building towards people the rest if the city will be built towards the snowy forest its completely unsettled. There is only one plot left to build in the other direction and we are delaying its construction due to debates on city building sizes. It is also going to be built away from an inhabited area and I will check for regions and walk the area myself before we startApril 18, 2012 at 10:18 am #1478
I have found a very very small cobble shack in the area that I am about to start working over. It’s a bit smaller than 4×4. There is just one torch on top and one torch inside. There is nothing dug up in the area and no signs of anyone being in this area. There is nothing inside it no chests or anything. It is not regioned. I will not build over it without mod approval. But it appears to be a simple survive through the night shack. If this is anyone’s I would like to know if you care if I build over it or not as it does seem to be anything anyone would care about.
